The game is originally packaged as a a timed exclusive with Sony's PS4.
According to game creator Sean Murray, the studio wants to really show how the game is different from other offerings in the market.
Speculations are rife that the game could be made available on Playstation's VR headset/ Project Morpheus gear, especially since there are also reports that the delay in the game release is intended to launch it together with the VR headset.
Murray hinted as much in an interview with Games Radar, he said, "I don't know what I'm allowed to say. It's something we're thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus... There's nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let's put it that way."
According to its description, "No Man's Sky is a game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy."
Players are challenged to explore an infinite number of worlds and interact with creatures both friendly and antagonistic.
